Veg-Tan Belt 1.5"
vBe sure to check the SIZING notes below to ensure you order the correct size! This belt does not correspond directly to your pants size!!!
Note your order with the length you need! Belts are made to order, please give us an extra day or two to get yours done!
Leather: This belt is made from 9/10oz veg-tan cowhide. 9/10oz leather is 3.5 - 4mm thick and is ideal for a rugged casual belt. This is not a dress belt!
Construction: First the strap is cut from a whole side of thick cowhide. We thin the end slightly to create the buckle fold, then cement and use 2 rivets to secure the buckle.
The keeper loop is unfixed or "floating" so you can move it wherever works best for you. If you want it fastened, just ask for it in the order notes.
Hardware: The buckle is an antiqued nickel-plated roller buckle that fits the aesthetic of the leather perfectly. Brass available upon request!
Design: It's a belt, not just a strip of leather with holes in it! We don't just stamp these belts out and assemble them, they take some time and care. We bevel the edges in front and back to round out the corners, and if you get a colored belt we burnish the sides until slick and shiny. If you choose the Natural, we leave the edges raw to promote even patina development (edge dressing will keep oil and dirt off the edges, preserving the original color but preventing oil and dirt from developing the color on the edges), leaving them oddly clean as your belt develops character.
The Natural leather has a lightly toasted brown color that will develop with time and wear. We craft each belt to invoke a "YES!!!" the first time you see it, and kept the design simple so there's practically no chance of failure at any point. The idea is that the only reason you'll ever have to replace this belt is if yours is stolen or lost in a fire.
SIZING: Please please please don't guess at this. You need to measure a belt that you have now so we know the exact length that will fit you well. It's a huge bummer for everyone involved if your belt arrives and doesn't fit correctly!
Measure just the leather, don't include the buckle. We need to know the length from the buckle end of the leather all the way to the hole you use now, not the overall length!
So if your belt is 42" from end to end, the hole you use is probably at around 36". That's what we need to know. How many inches from the buckle-end to the hole you use. That's where we will place the middle hole on your belt.
